honu in MauiMany visitors of Maui don’t know that the Kihei Boat Ramp exists and that it’s a great alternative to the longer drive to Maalaea Harbor when looking when doing a boat trip.  So, we’ve decided to share some information about it with you!  The Kihei Boat Ramp is a small, protected departure point for smaller vessels going to Molokini Crater, snorkel and scuba destinations in south Maui, and whale watch tours.

 Maui Snorkel Charters

Maui snorkel boatSnorkeling trips to Molokini are a ton of fun on Kai Anela.  The owners of Maui Snorkel Charters are some of the nicest people we’ve met on the island, and they run the trip themselves.  Their excitement about Maui and the great spots to snorkel and whale watch is contagious.

On their Molokini snorkel tour, they give you a continental breakfast, a deli lunch, instruction on snorkeling (if needed), snorkel equipment and a wetsuit (if you want it.)   They don’t take a lot of passengers at a time, so call now to reserve your seats.

Kihei Boat Ramp Directions

Below you’ll see a map of the Kihei Boat Ramp.  It’s just off of South Kihei Road, in south Maui.  You won’t see any signs, but as you drive south, you’ll see it on the right side just past the big park at Kamaole Beach Park 3.  There are 2 parking lots on the left and right at the entrance.  These are where you’ll need to park.  The lower, larger lot is for boat parking.  If driving their from the Piilani Highway, remember that Keonekai Road doesn’t have a light.  Alanui Ke Alii Rd. is easier to spot since it has a stop light.
